If you
haven't noticed already SUMAKHI has featured in various publications now.
Publications such as Cleo, Cosmopolitan, Madison and Shop til u drop. Sumakhi
was launched in 2005 by the Australian designer Jayne Leslie, who after graduating in 2003
started her career with likes of Sass & Bide and Alice Mccall, until, with enough
experience behind her, and the desire to create, began her own label. Jayne began her solo career with the
attitude that "Fashion is ever changing and requires continual updating" She
releases 4 collections a year to a flow in with the changing seasons. Sumakhi's
fabric choice includes luxurious silks, the colours range from turquoise,
fuchsia, fluoro, neon and electric blues to
warm, hazy, charcoals and blacks. the fabrics incorporate these colours
with unique prints and graphics that include zebra prints, stripes, swirling, abstract and bright futuristic neon
or a kaleidoscope of colours. The shapes can be described as loose fitting,
drapey, slouchy or ethereal and can be forgiving to various figure types .
Many of the pieces in the collections would be considered ageless, however Sumakhi likes to see women feel sexy and confident and some of the styles will
encourage that daring confident style and individual pieces can move from day to
night. Sumahki wants her wearer to feel unique and exclusive which is why the
label is found mainly in selected special boutiques but coupled with a
reasonable price point. Anxiously waiting on her winter 2012 range Please hurry..........
